Governance as Ministry

Strengthening Churches through Biblical Governance

At TS Stewardship & Consulting, I believe governance is not simply a matter of compliance or organizational efficiency — it is an act of stewardship rooted in Scripture. Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 12:28 that God Himself appoints roles within the church: apostles, prophets, teachers, and administrators. Administration and governance, then, are not human inventions but Spirit‑given gifts designed to enable ministry rather than hinder it.

Likewise, Romans 12:6–8 teaches that leadership is a grace given gift to be exercised with zeal, alongside service, teaching, generosity, and mercy. Governance provides the framework in which these gifts can flourish faithfully, ensuring that the body of Christ is built up in unity and mission.

By way of background, I have been professionally involved in governance for over 15 years, primarily within non‑profit organizations and in various leadership roles within church settings. Through this experience, I became convinced of the growing need for governance knowledge and skill sets within church leadership. Governance is a unique attribute — a blend of knowledge and skill — that not many possess, which led me to launch this Governance Ministry as a way of equipping churches and faith-based non-profits with the tools and biblical grounding needed to steward Christ’s mission faithfully.

My work is to come alongside churches and faith‑based nonprofits, equipping them with transparent processes, practical tools, and leadership coaching that free pastors and boards to focus on discipleship and mission. Whether it’s safeguarding policies, financial oversight, pastoral accountability, or the development of clear governing documents, governance provides the structures that protect congregations and empower leaders to serve with integrity

With a blend of biblical conviction and practical expertise, I help congregations build systems that are both faithful and functional. This means developing Scripture‑anchored policies, creating annotated templates that clarify both legal requirements and spiritual purpose, and coaching boards to embrace their role as stewards of Christ’s mission.

Ultimately, my work is about strengthening the church for sustainable ministry. By rooting governance in obedience to Scripture and aligning it with best practices, I aim to help leaders experience the freedom of focusing on what matters most: preaching the Gospel, making disciples, and shepherding God’s people.
